Based in Lexington Kentucky Jamie Emmons has consulted Democratic and non-partisan candidates as well as legislative issue and local option referendum campaigns for the past six years. During this time he has focused on campaign research, messaging, outreach, voter targeting and media production. He has been active in the AAPC since 2003 participating in annual conferences and judging Pollie Awards competitions.

After graduating from the University of Kentucky he joined Emmons & Company, his father Dale’s firm. Since entering the profession he has participated in seminars hosted by the Bliss Institute, Campaigns and Elections Magazine, Politics Online, George Washington University and the Harvard Institute of Politics. To broaden his experience Jamie joined Kentucky House Speaker Greg Stumbo in the legislative arena in January 2009.

Since 2008 Jamie has served as President of the Midwest chapter of AAPC. The region encompasses the five states of Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio in which seventy-nine AAPC members reside. The chapter hosts several events each year including an academic outreach reception at the Midwest Political Science Association conference. The 2010 annual conference will be held during August in Columbus Ohio. The chapter continues to benefit from the assistance and support of national AAPC board members and staff.
