Carol Dahmen
Carol is a native of Sacramento and comes from a political background. She has over 15 years of political and governmental work experience covering communications, press and media relations, public policy and program management. She has worked on Republican and Democratic campaigns. She started her career as a media assistant for George H.W. Bush Presidential campaign in 1988. After graduating from CSUS with a degree in Journalism and Government, she began working on local and statewide Democratic races.
She was a member of the Governor Gray Davis Administration serving in a number of positions. As Chief Deputy Director of Communications, she developed and managed events for the Governor and oversaw government agency communications.
As Communications Director-Department of Conservation, she implemented and managed an award winning beverage container recycling campaign and oversaw all department communications.
As Deputy Director of Advance, she helped manage all public appearances of the governor. She traveled to Mexico, England and Israel and managed logistics and meeting with various dignitaries.
She also was a Deputy Political Director in the successful 1998 and 2002 gubernatorial elections.
In 2004 and 2005 she served as Communications Director for Secretary of State Kevin Shelly
Carol joined Comcast Spotlight in 2005 in a newly created position of Political Marketing Manager. She is responsible for growing political advertising and government funded program revenues.
In 2006, her efforts helped more than double projected revenue of $10 million to $24 million for markets in California, Oregon and Washington.
Carol's source of inspiration for choosing to work in the political field is her late, great uncle, Lyn Nofziger. Nofziger was a longtime strategist for Governor and President Reagan.
