For Immediate Release:

Washington, DC (April 02, 2010) Last week the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) held its successful 19th annual Pollie Awards & Conference in Phoenix, AZ.   The weather in Phoenix was a high of 81° and sunny with over 400 people in attendance – including 77 sponsors and 32 exhibitors.  With 24 dynamic panels and general sessions; mid to senior level political strategists were able to network and explore cutting-edge technologies and trends in the political and public affairs industry.

During, the 2010 Pollie Conference – the AAPC inducted Charlie Black and Stanley B. Greenberg to the Hall of Fame during the Hall of Fame Luncheon hosted by Aristotle.  Induction into the AAPC Hall of Fame is the highest honor that working members of the profession can bestow upon a colleague. Every year the AAPC selects two people whose career and activities serve as inspirations to us all, especially students and young professionals.  Attendees also had an opportunity to witness firsthand the Aristotle Campaign Dream Team Award winners (listed here: http://www.aristotle.com/excellence/).  The Aristotle Dream Team Award represents “the most distinguished and accomplished campaign operatives from around the globe”.

The 19th Annual Pollie Awards & Conference culminated Saturday night with the annual Pollie Awards Dinner – the first ever Dinner under the stars –that started with a presentation of the Pollie winners. The Pollie Awards™ (Pollies) are bipartisan awards received annually by the members of the political communication industry who have demonstrated they are the “best of the best”.  Esquire magazine, has defined the Pollies as “…the Oscars of political advertising.”  Our distinguished winners are listed on the AAPC’s website (www.theaapc.org).  It was also the night that AAPC honored its Campaign Excellence Award Winners – those that have shown dedication, initiative and determination last campaign season.  The evening finished in a flurry of excitement as winners adjourned to the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa to collect their trophies and for a photo opportunity.

This summer the AAPC will start its regional conferences in Sacramento, CA July 8th and finish in New York, NY July 28th.   The regional conference is intended for strategists, staff, candidates, political consultants, public affairs professionals and serves as an excellent opportunity for Political professionals to network and refuel for the upcoming 2010 Battleground.
